The city of Aden witnessed today the launch of the National Childhood Plan 2026–2029, held under the slogan “Childhood Without Protection… A Future Without Safety.” The event was organized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and attended by a broad range of officials, including Minister of Civil Service and Insurance Abdulnasser Al-Wali, Minister of Industry and Trade Mohammed Al-Ashwal, several deputy ministers, directors-general, and representatives of international, regional, and civil society organizations.

The ceremony also saw the participation of the Modern Social Foundation, represented by its Chief Executive Officer Dr. Asmaa Dareeb and Executive Director Dr. Omar Bajarsh, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to supporting childhood issues and strengthening social protection systems in Yemen.

In his remarks, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Mohammed Al-Zaouri stated that the launch coincides with World Children’s Day, observed annually on 20 November. He emphasized that the occasion represents a global commitment to children’s rights and the importance of ensuring a safe and dignified environment for every child.

 

The minister added that the introduction of the plan sends a clear message that Yemen is moving forward in enhancing child protection and upholding the dignity and humanity of its children.
